I think we are going to get snow to remember this winter. Buffalo is getting 4 feet of snow as I write this. Something just tells me this is going to happen. If I am wrong, I’ll admit it.
I’m keeping busy over the next couple months. The ball just keeps rolling and it’s happening at a rate I can handle. May it continue through 2023. I had a great time at 3rd Street Coffeehouse in Roanoke a couple weeks ago and showcases live and virtual all went well in September and October. The October Twilight Showcase with Sandy Streid and Keith James went great and I will be back for more in 2023.
So here is what is coming:
TOMORROW (November 20th) is an interview with Artie Martello, the host of Mostly Folk and Power Folk on Blues and Roots Radio and the host of Catskillls Cafe on WIOX-FM in New York State. Artie has been a wonderful supporter of my music dating back to the Firefly album. We will be taping the interview for later broadcast.
Saturday, December 3rd, 7-9 pm: I am past of the ISSA Boston Chapter showcase which will be raising funds for One Broadway Collaborative in Lawrence, MA. Along with me will be Linda Marks, Joanna Katzen, Rich Drost, Craig Sonnenfeld, Anne Sandstrom, Chris Steele, Kenny Selcer and Angel Melanie. We are probably doing two songs each. Suggested donation is $15. Come support Aaron Tornberg’s great ongoing community work supporting us and others.
Thursday, December 15th: I am live on the air at WICN-FM for one of their two holiday shows during Nick Noble’s Folk Revival program from 7-10 pm. On my night, I will be there with Erin Ash Sullivan (we finally meet!), Kevin Kvein, the Hip Swayers, P.E. James and Mark Mandeville and Raianne Richards. Expect some of the Blackstone Valley Music students to also crash the party!
Thursday, January 15th: I will be part of Joanne Lurgio’s RISA Showcase with others to be announced at AS220 in Providence (weather permitting). This is always a great event and I am glad to be invited back here.
I will probably show up for one of the virtual open mikes at Catbird Cafe and the Roslindale Open Mike over the next couple months. If you come there, the chances are good that you will have the chance to check out Mary Ann McAllister who has become a good friend in the past couple months. Nylon string guitar players unite!
Thanks to everyone, have a good holidays, stay safe and see you sometime soon.
