This is the first time I have had a full album review in a published newspaper and magazine and I could not have asked for a better reviewer than Victor or a better review. I am definitely an empath, a listener, an observer. I am all of the above and I am therefore a writer (and a therapist!) When someone gets my vibe, it is frankly astonishing. I hide it behind humor and sarcasm a lot. I need to be more proud of my artistic self.
Two or three big things are happening in the coming months and there may be more. First, I am enlisting the support of Ariel Hyatt’s Cyber PR to help promote my album in ways that I never could on my own. The word is out but the word is now about to be out and proud. I will have an official biography written by Lorne Behrmann in conjunction with Cyber PR. Earlier today via E-Mail, I met my two publicists, Abbie and Melissa. It will be an adventure!
Next, Stephen Martin and I are working on an Album Release Event which will take place at Ultrasound Studios in Hanover, Mass on Friday, April 22nd at 7pm. We will be videotaping this event and we intend to have a live audience, probably by invitation only (but if you want to come, we can get you in!). Most of the musicians from the album will be there. Once the concert is videotaped, it will go up on You Tube most likely with a boost from Cyber PR. I’ll be everywhere, man…
In between this, I have been invited to appear for the first time to appear on Twilight Showcase, the long running music program broadcast on WATD-FM (95.9) in Marshfield on Sunday March 13th and hosted by Sandy Streid and Keith James. Stephen will be appearing with me and talking about his new coming single along with the both of us talking about the Drifting To The Right album. I will likely be playing some songs live on the show. It’s a nice laid back show presented by two people who appreciate musicians and musicianship.
This month, I am doing what I have done for the past 15 years every February: writing those 14 songs in 28 days for February Album Writing Month (FAWM.org). At the moment, it is four songs in the first four days and my favorite song prompting source, The Fearless Songwriter is coming up next week. When I started doing FAWM, there were only 3 or 4 persons in the Greater Boston area who were regular participants. That number is now between 20-25 people and has expanded to New Hampshire and this year is also expanding to Rhode Island via Scott Lewis.
No political observations this time but the Drifting To The Right song is starting to get a decent amount of airplay thanks to Nick Noble at WICN-FM and Artie Martello at the Catskills Cafe in upstate New York. Victor spotlighted the song well in his album review. I hope it gets people thinking and making a commitment to opening their hearts to the future rather than closing them down.
Next check-in most likely at the end of the month.
